What Is It?
The Keypad Interface has been designed to make experimenting with digital circuits easier.
The first feature, it's main one, is to output a Binary number at the touch of a key. Up to 8 bits/a byte of data.
Simply adapt a Matrix Keypad, press a key, and the binary equivalent will be present on the output lines.
This is beneficial if you are not fluent in Binary, or need to manually change the input lines of a device frequently.
It is also great for learning Hexadeciaml and Binary number systems.
It comes with a couple more features, these include;
- An ICSP for re-programming a different Matrix arrangement
- 2-Way DIP switch to switch between "Matrix Arrangements" and "Type of Output" ("Normal BCD" and "DTMF" for use with the communications system and DTMF Chips)
- 4-bit Binary Number LED indicator and output
- 8-bit Binary Number output
- Chip Enable button with LED indicator and output (+ inverted output)
- Push-On Push-Off button with LED indicator and output
- Momentary-On button with LED indicator and output
- Power On indicator LED
